The World's Largest Swimming Pool


Pool is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest in the world. Swimming pool on the outskirts of this beach has a long reach 1013 meters (1 kilometer more) and breadth of reach 8 hectares. Swimming pool located on the edge of the Chilean coast is to hold water up to as many as 66 million gallons (250,000 cubic meters of water).


This pool takes 5 years to complete and when it is opened immediately attract many tourists to the San Alfonso del Mar resort in Algarrobo, Chile south coast where the pool is located.



This pool uses pumps and filtration systems are computer controlled to keep the sea water in it to keep it fresh with permanent circulatory system.
Siphon pump and filter water from the sea on one side, and pump it out again on the other side. The temperature is set at a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, nine degrees warmer About a temperature of nearby sea water.


This pool was designed by a Biochemist from Chile, Fernando Fischmann in utilizing sea water that never runs out and certainly do not damage the surrounding marine environment.
